Critical Theories and Social Practices is a special interest group of Division 24 (Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. Established in 2017, it is composed of a subset of Div 24 members who are interested in exploring the relationship between critical theories and social practices. We use a number of critical approaches to inform our scholarly and professional work. While our work focuses on a variety of topics, we share an interest in questions of power, resistance, equity, community, social justice, and diversity as it relates to psychological theorizing, research, and professional practice. Interdisciplinary inquiry is strongly supported and encouraged.
