We hope you will consider becoming a member or affiliate of the Society for Philosophical and Theoretical Psychology. We especially encourage students at all levels to join the Society, at a low rate of only $9 per year.

Who is Eligible?
Membership is open to all who are interested in the theory and philosophy of psychology, whether or not you are a member of the American Psychological Association (APA).  Students at all levels, as well as teachers, researchers, and other professionals from any field or discipline interested in the theory and philosophy of psychology, are welcome to join.

Membership Categories
Membership categories, with respective annual due amounts, are as follows:

  • Member ($35): Limited to associates, members, and fellows of APA. Click here for more information about joining APA. Society members have voting rights (for Society officers and certain matters of Society business), opportunities for Society leadership and governance, and eligibility for certain Society awards and distinctions

  • Scholarly Affiliate ($35):  Primarily philosophers, scientists, helping professionals, teachers, theologians, and others who are not members of APA.

  • Student Affiliate ($9):  Undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students in any field, both members and nonmembers of APA.
